Did you get onboard? Romance and the Greeks. It's festival time. Check out RJ Nyx's time travel series!
Okay, so it turns out that Ship of Dreams was a little niche...
I'd really hoped that people would give it a go, and to be honest, a lot of the advanced readers said they'd read it simply because I wrote it. Which is awesome, by the way. And their reviews bear out that they loved it and were glad they gave it a chance, which is always super awesome to hear too.
It's convincing EVERYONE else to give it a try where things get sticky.
And that's just part of being a writer. I've had this talk with myself quite a few times now, as the book shot to number two on the Amazon charts, and then fell away, like a stone thrown into the air that takes a millisecond before it begins to drop to earth again.
The thing is, I wanted to write it. And I think that as a writer, you really, really have to write what you love. You've got to write the things that make you happy and that you get really invested in. Otherwise, you're just slogging through page after page, and you might as well be cleaning chicken poo out of fields for eight hours a day.
I'm glad it's out in the world, and I trust that the readers who need it, the ones who will love it, will find it. And now I'm on to the next book.
What's next?
Right now I'm working on my next Ally McGuire book, The Heart Remembers, and I'm really enjoying it. It's a rom-com, second-chance romance, and I'm even making myself smile as I take them down memory lane. Plus, there are alligators, wild hogs, and unintentional dunks in the lake.
After that, it's a return to the Afterlife, Inc/Memory's Muses universe!
There's been a VERY long break from that world, and I feel like it's time to revisit it. That's going to take some deep-dive reading to immerse myself in the world once again, but I'm really looking forward to it. Have you read the Afterlife, Inc trilogy? Or the first three Muses books? They're all available on Amazon, and you've got some time to get caught up on the world where gods misbehave and humans can hold them accountable. You'll want to start with Fury's Bridge and then go from there.
I hope you'll take a chance on Ship of Dreams, and if you have, send me a pic of you with the book! I LOVE seeing it in reader's hands.

I'm not sure they're a thing in the States, or if it was just my family who didn't do it. Did yours? Robyn LOVES an advent calendar. Last year I got her the Inkvent calendar, with a different little bottle of ink each day. I won't need to get her that one for another five years, probably. It's so much fun to watch her rush downstairs to see what's behind the new door. And we wanted...
